Before you start
- An AtomicX account. The free plan works; add AI when you're ready.
- Pages hosted on HubSpot (website pages, landing pages or blog).
- The Website settings permission. Super Admins have it.
1. Copy your snippet from AtomicX
- Sign in to AtomicX and go to Insights › Widget generator.
- Under 1. Select Configuration, choose the chat you want on this site.
- Pick 2. Display Mode (Floating corner bubble or Full Page), 3. Button Position and 4. Widget Theme. The Live Preview shows the result.
- Under 5. Integration Method, choose Auto-Initialize. It's one snippet that starts the chat when the page loads.
- Under 6. Generated Code, click Copy.
2. Add it to HubSpot
- Click the settings icon in HubSpot's top navigation.
- In the left sidebar, go to Content › Pages.
- In the domain dropdown, choose Default settings for all domains, or pick one domain.
- Paste your AtomicX snippet into Site footer HTML.
- Click Save.
Check a website page, a landing page and a blog post in a private window. If you don't see the chat right away, hard-refresh.
3. Check it works
- Open your site in a private or incognito window, so you're not seeing a cached or logged-in version.
- Look for the chat button in the corner you picked.
- Ask it a question you know the answer to. Then check the conversation appears in Conversations in your AtomicX dashboard.
Good to know
- If a domain overrides the default settings, code saved under Default settings won't reach it. Add the snippet to that domain too.
- Domain-level code runs on all HubSpot content on that domain, including quotes.
- Already using HubSpot chat? Turn it off on those pages so visitors see one chat, not two.
- Custom-coded templates must include HubSpot's standard header and footer includes, or the code won't render.
Update or remove it
Go to Settings › Content › Pages, select the same domain (and any domain that overrides it), remove the snippet, and save.
If something isn't right
- No chat button? Clear your site's cache, check you published or saved, and try a private window with ad blockers off.
- Two chat buttons? The snippet is installed twice, for example in your site and in Google Tag Manager. Keep one.
- Still stuck? Contact us and tell us your platform and site address.
